It's Monday - What are you Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at bookjourney to allow us to share with others in the book-loving cyberworld what is on our reading plates.
I haven't participated in this meme for a while but I'm climbing out of my funk and am ready to rejoin the blogosphere.
This week I am reading the following books:
- The Weird Sisters by Eleanor Brown
- The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer by Siddhartha Mukherjee
- Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea by Barbara Demick
- Something Missing by Matthew Dicks
What are you reading this week?
The Book Club discussion sounds really nice. I haven't read these two books either, but I have read a few other by Dickens.
ReplyDeleteI once went to a taping of a tv show and although the show wasn't very good, the whole experience was good fun.
Too bad that the show won't be aired on TV, especially since she made a big announcement about choosing these books on the show. Sad to say that I haven't read either of these books. Have a great week of reading :)
ReplyDeleteI am listening to The Emperor of All Maladies right now on audio while I work out, and I must say, it's an amazing book. Scary and crazy, but also very interesting and well written. I will be interested in hearing what you think of it.
ReplyDeleteI've read Great Expectations (Meh). I tried A Tale of Two Cities once upon a time and couldn't get into it. It's on my TBR list to try again....
ReplyDeleteBut here's my Monday list: http://myreadersblock.blogspot.com/2011/02/its-monday-what-are-you-reading_21.html
I have been seeing Weird Sisters around a lot and am intrigued a lot by this one. Hope you enjoy all your reads!
ReplyDeleteI so want to read Weird Sisters.... I am going to have to pick that one up!
ReplyDeleteThe taping of the Book Club discussion sounds an interesting experience. I'm also looking forward to The Weird Sisters.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
I only finished three books because I was working on papers for school. Come see what I'm reading now.
ReplyDeletethe book club sounds interesting- I'm curious as to what she'd do with those books :-)
ReplyDeleteO did make a point of mentioning a few times during the taping that this was her only book club selection that did not make the NY Times Bestseller list so I wonder if she held a grudge and didn't want to devote a regular show to it.
ReplyDeleteI just finished The Weird Sisters and it was ok. I hope to have a review up soon....
Emperor is great I finished it 2 weeks ago and still catch myself thinking about it/mentioning it in conversations!
