Top Ten Tuesday -- Books I'll Never Read

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This week's question is to list your top 10 books that you will never read.

Warning:  I understand that some of the books I have listed here are very popular and loved by many people.  They just aren't my cup of tea.

That said, in no particular order, the books I will never read:
  • The Twilight Series
  • The Hunger Games trilogy
  • Snooki's novel
  • The Secret
  • I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell
  • The Shack
  • The Left Behind Series
Of course, never is a REALLY long time and sometime down the road I might pick up one of these books (in Snooki's case, though, the temperature in Hell would have to be 33 degrees and falling and pigs would be getting ready for takeoff)

  1. Ha - your list looks incredibly similar to what mine would look like. I'd add L.A. Candy and Sweet Little Lies by Lauren Conrad, anything by Nicholas Sparks, anything by Jennifer Weiner and Dan Brown's next novel. ;)

  2. Snooki has a novel?! I agree with you about the Left Behind series...

  4. Yeah, this is a hoot of a question! ;-)

    My list would likely include--

    "Ulysses" James Joyce
    "Finnegan's Wake" James Joyce
    Anything by Dan Brown
    Anything by Nicholas Sparks
    Anything by Stephanie Meyer
    Much of Henry James

You're right too, 'never' is a very long time (but I can say that I will "never" try those two Joyce novels again!)

    Cheers!

  5. I agree on Snooki's novel, The Secret and The Left Behind Series. I plan to sample Twilight before I pass judgement, and I need to research the rest.

  6. Great list! I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell is also on my list.

  7. Nice list. Snooki's book or any book by a reality TV star needs to go.

  8. Who is Snooki? With that kind of name, how can you be taken seriously?
I really loved the Hunger Games, so if you ever consider reading one on this list, I'd recommend that one.

  9. Nice list.

As for Hunger Games -- LOVED book 1 and mostly book 2 but she could have made it a standalone and I'd have been just fine.

    My list is here: http://www.sarahreck.com/blog/?p=281

  10. So glad I'm not the only one who won't read The Hunger Games trilogy!

  11. Haha, I don't blame you on the Twilights, those are terrible. Hunger Games aren't too bad, but I was a bit disappointed, considering all the hype.

The Secret was on my list, too. Gag. I don't think I'll ever touch Beer in Hell or the Shack, either. And oh god, the Left Behind series. Those are bad, but the children's version? Even worse.

  12. Ha ha...Snooki's book has made all these no-read lists! The Secret is also one that turns me right off--such a money-making ripoff.

    Here's my list. Cheers!

  14. I contemplated putting the Left Behind series (though I read the first book, that was enough!) and Twilight series (once again one was enough but then I decided to go all political. Thanks for dropping by my blog.

  16. you're right. our lists are very alike!

i have a friend (a guy) that loves Tucker Max and probably reads I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell every night before bed. heh. but i completely understand how that would end up on a list of this sort. :)

as for Snooki, i didn't even know who she was until a couple of weeks ago, but i have to agree with you. never is a very appropriate word for her.

  17. Great list! I definitely agree with you on most of these, especially Twilight. Might read the Hunger series.

  18. Ha! I ended up reading the first in the Hunger Games but didn't really like it. I have decided I will no longer say "never" because if I have a teenage daughter who wants to read Twilight or it's 15 years from now equivalent then I'd read it too...
