This week I finished the following books:
- The Speed of Light by Elizabeth Rosner
- Travel as a Political Act by Rick Steves
Books in Progress:
- War & Peace by Leo Tolstoy -- I am in the epilogue and so have only about 100 more pages to go!
- The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon
- L'Origine de la Violence by Fabrice Humbert -- yes, it's in French; though I have to look up words here and there I am impressed that I am able to follow what is going on in the story. It is a very good book.
What are you reading this week?
wow, good for you on war & peace! i'm starting next month!
ReplyDeleteWell done on War & Peace. How long did/does it take you to read the whole thing? And did you enjoy it? I'm not tempted, I must say.
ReplyDeleteA holiday in France, that should be really nice. Hope it'll happen!
Way to go on your W&P progress! Hope your trip to France comes off. Have a great reading week :) Here's my Monday post.
ReplyDeleteI'm very impressed with your War & Peace progress! I just couldn't do that one. Tried and failed.
ReplyDeleteHere's my Monday: http://myreadersblock.blogspot.com/2011/01/its-monday-what-are-you-reading.html
War and Peace! WOW! I have never attempted this.
ReplyDeleteI am so in awe of anyone who can finish War and Peace. I've started it several times, but never managed to get all the way through. Good work, and happy reading this week!
ReplyDeleteRight now? Right now I'm reading the first book ("Gardens of the Moon") of one of the most intense, dark, amazingly creative fantasy series I've ever encountered--"The Malazan Book of the Fallen Series" by Steven Erikson. Crazy good modern fiction!
ReplyDeleteHang tough with Tolstoy's "War and Peace" it is one of my top five favorite novels of all time. There's nothing like it.
A 100 page epilogue. Wow. I don't know that I'd have the patience for that long of an ending. I'm reading Cybils short list books now and more wishlist books. Come see what I finished!
ReplyDeleteMy five day week seems daunting as well. I look forward to your review of Kavalier and Clay. I've wanted to read that for quite some awhile but the size intimidates me.
