It's Monday -- What are you Reading?


  It's Monday - What are you Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at bookjourney to allow us to share with others in the book-loving cyberworld what is on our reading plates.

  This week I finished the following books:
  1. Heart of Lies:  A Novel, by M.L. Malcolm
  2. Paris was Ours:  Thirty-Two Writers Reflect on the City of Light, edited by Penelope Rowlands
  Books in Progress:
  1. Don Quixote,  by Miguel de Cervantes, translated by Edith Grossman
  2. How to Live:  A Life of Montaigne in One Question and Twenty Attempts at an Answer, by Sarah Bakewell
  3. No Regrets:  The Life of Edith Piaf, by Carolyn Burke
  4. The Revenge of the Radioactive Lady, by Elizabeth Stuckey-French
  So I've just returned from the most amazing weekend at the Books on the Nightstand Readers' Retreat.  Watch for my post about it later in the week, but suffice to say that it was an absolute delight to spend time with so many like-minded people.  My reading list has expanded exponentially talking to these fellow readers.

    Don Quixote? I struggled through that book and finally admit that I failed. I hope you'll do better than me!
    Right now I'm reading Seven Sorcerers by Caro King.

    oh god I read the Quixote when in high school (in Mexico is our required reading) I do not wish that book upon anyone ahaha kidding!

    I am reading The Widow's Story right now, and hoping to finish it soon so that I can start some terribly tempting YA that has been sitting on my shelves for ages!

    How did you like Paris was ours? Sounds interesting! Hm, Don Quixote is a huge book, isn't it? Good luck with getting through it :) It's still on my to-read list, somewhere anyway. That biography of Edith Piaf looks like a good read too! Happy reading this week :)

    I reread Don Quixote a couple years ago. It remains a favorite of mine. As this week I was mostly writing for my projects, my list of finished books isn't as bloated with homework.. Come see what I finished.

    That montaigne book sounds interesting. Let me know how you like it. I've finished part 1 of DQ! On to more adventures! I'm not hating it anymore but it's still very .... long.
