June Reading List

Bookish things of note for June:

  • I will be attending The Printers' Row Lit Fest in downtown Chicago on Saturday June 4. The schedule arrived this week and I've already circled a few panels I'm looking forward to (and put aside a few $ for some new books!)
  • I will once again be participating in the Literary Giveaway Blog Hop,  hosted by Judith at leeswammes that will run from June 25-29. I still haven't figured out what I will be offering, but be sure to stay tuned!
In the meantime, here is what I have on the reading agenda for the month:

For Reading Challenges:

  1. Oh, lovely, a Lit Fest! Have lots of fun Saturday!

I've heard people say they weren't too impressed with Goon Squad so I'm curious to know what you think (I haven't picked it up yet).

    Have a great month!

  2. I just finished French Lessons last week and enjoyed it. Looking forward to your thoughts about the book!

  3. Good luck with Mrs. Dalloway. I've always wanted to read but I'm a bit afraid of it to be honest. I really enjoyed The Hours and A Room of One's Own, so I should be prepared for it. Still... I can't wait to hear what you thought of it.

  4. A Lit Fest in Chicago? I live here and had no idea! But I'm not free on Saturday :(

Good luck with all the books. Mrs. Dalloway is on my TBR but I just haven't gotten around to it yet. And I read The Monster of Florence last year. It was pretty good.

  5. Judith -- I've heard mixed reviews about Goon Squad as well, so I look forward to reading it and forming my own opinion.
Kristen -- I'm partial to anything set in Paris, I'm glad you enjoyed French Lessons.
Teacher/Learner -- I read Mrs Dalloway a few years ago but I don't think I properly understood it. I think it will be better this time around discussing it with my classics group.
llevinso -- Printer's Row also runs on Sunday if you can make it then.

  6. I have Mrs. Dalloway on my TBR bookshelf; I started it once, got distracted, and didn't finish it, but I'm determined to get back to it this year.

I also will be purchasing A Visit from the Goon Squad soon for a book club. Enjoy your reading month!

What do you think? Good or bad, I'd love to hear from you (but be nice - I'm sensitive!)
