It's Monday - What are you Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at bookjourney to allow us to share with others in the book-loving cyberworld what is on our reading plates.
This week I finished the following books:
- The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton
- Silas Marner: The Weaver of Raveloe by George Eliot
- The Finkler Question by Howard Jacobson
- Michelangelo and the Pope's Ceiling by Ross King
- Purge by Sofi Oksanen
- The Best European Fiction 2010 edited by Aleksandar Hemon
This week is reading group week -- I have meetings on Monday & Wednesday -- and I have to start thinking about cleaning my house in preparation for Thanksgiving next week (we are having dinner at our house and my parents will be visiting from Winnipeg) so I will likely be a busy beaver with hopefully a few minutes to spare for reading. Oh, and my Blogiversary is next Sunday, so I'm also planning something for that.
What are you reading this week?
yeay for War and Peace! I am currently reading a 700 page nonfiction book and I told myself I couldn't start W&P until I finish that....here's hoping I finish that soon!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to Wednesday! I wasn't crazy about SILAS MARNER (mostly because it was so WORDY) but I think we'll have a good discussion, as usual.
I want to read War and Peace, but yes I am intimidated by it! Thanks for the link to the Blue Bookcase, I will definitely be holding on to that!
ReplyDeleteMy Monday post is here
Wow to reading War and Peace. I have always wanted to but never got up the courage!
ReplyDeleteI really want to read The Forgotten Garden soon! It has been on my shelf forever!
ReplyDeleteI received for review "Lodestone Book One: The Sea of Storms" by Mark Whiteway from the author.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with War & Peace! How was Silas Marner? I like George Eliot & would like to try that one sometime.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with War and Peace - that's my one and only literary goal for 2011. Good to know that between you and Ingrid at The Blue Bookcase, I'll have two great sources to bug with questions. ;)
ReplyDeleteWow, you have some fabulous selections! And War and Peace is something to try, I was considering after reading The Blue Bookcase's post -- but I'll hold off until I finish The Count of Monte Cristo! Here's my Mailbox: Coffee and a Book Chick -- Mailbox Monday...
ReplyDeleteThese look very interesting and after your reviews I have a feeling my TBR list will grow. Have a great week. My Monday: http://www.rundpinne.com/2010/11/its-monday-what-are-you-reading-13.html
