Top Ten Books I Just Had to Buy

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and The Bookish.  This week they want to know about the top 10 books we just had to buy.... but are still sitting on the bookshelf.

  Ha.Ha.Ha.

This is one topic where I could probably do a top 100 list (my name is Suzanne and I am a bookaholic), but I will keep it to 10 and I will also refer you to the books I am reading for the 2011 TBR Pile Challenge.

  1. How to Live, or A Life of Montaigne  by Sarah Bakewell
  2. The Dead Beat by Marilyn Johnson
  3. First Comes Love, Then Comes Malaria by Eve Brown-Waite
  4. The Great Typo Hunt by Jeff Deck & Benjamin D Herson
  5. Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly
  6. Annexed by Sharon Dogar
  7. Postcards from a Dead Girl by Kirk Farber
  8. Heart of Lies by M.L. Malcolm
  9. Heidegger's Glasses by Thaisa Frank
  10. A Kind of Intimacy by Jenn Ashworth
I plan to read all of these -- really!

  2. Suzanne, I have about a 1,000 on my list (and I just keep on adding). At the rate I buy books, I will have to live forever in order to read them all....

I've not heard of any of these on your list. I refuse to click on any of them because I'd just add to my TBO list (to be owned). :-)

  3. I'm delighted to see my novel, "Heart of Lies," on your list! I hope you enjoy it, and if you do, the sequel is coming out in April. Happy reading! MLM

  4. I'm reading Revolution right now. I'm enjoying it, but it has been a slow reading month for me in general.

Check out my list here: http://hawthornescarlet.blogspot.com/2011/03/top-ten-tuesday-tbr.html

  5. M.L. -- I don't know how delighted you'd be if you knew how long it had been sitting on my shelf :-) Thank you for taking the time to comment and I promise I will read Heart of Lies before the sequel is released!

Bev -- yeah, these lists are just horrible temptation for us bookaholics.

Zibilee -- I will post reviews as I read these and hopefully you will find a few that interest you as well

LBC -- That is interesting that you are finding Revolution slow. Others who have read it said that it was a quick read. Vive le difference!

What do you think? Good or bad, I'd love to hear from you (but be nice - I'm sensitive!)
